2009 EVERY PENNY COUNTS!!!

		So it’s New Years and every year we start the New Year with thoughts such as... “THIS YEAR I WILL BE SKINNY!”, “THIS YEAR I WILL BE RICH!”, and of course... “THIS YEAR I WILL FINISH EVERYTHING I FORGOT TO FINISH LAST YEAR!”... Well that is all fine and dandy... I AM a big believer in new beginnings, BUT I am an EVEN BIGGER believer in learning from the past so you can create a better future. So what does that mean for the Recessionista?? Well, let’s revisit the 5 Cs and see how we can use them in the future....
				1.) CRAFTY- WHERE WERE YOU WASTEFUL LAST YEAR? In the past maybe you threw away a broken pair of earrings or a broken belt because you saw no use for them. This year use those broken pieces to create a necklace, a pendant, or even a charm braclet. If you are not crafty, make a girls night of it... invite some friends over and learn how to use what you’ve got... you need to see use in everything
					2.) CAREFUL- WHEN DID YOU SHOP IGNORANT LAST YEAR? Educate yourself this year... ladies, I can not stress this enough.
	YOU HAVE TO BE CAUTIOUS ... a lot of the merchandise you are seeing on the shelf may be marked down, but the quality may be EXTREMELY poor. It’s ok to buy a cheap Tshirt you know you are only going to wear once or twice... but you will be angry when that necklace or sweater for 40 bucks falls apart a week later. Look at your closet. What did you buy last year that faded in the wash? The sweater that snagged? Or the clasp that broke off? Learn your materials. Rayon, cotton, blends... do your research especially since a lot of us don’t have the money to splurge on dry cleaning right now... MAKE SURE WHAT YOU BUY CAN SUSTAIN YOUR NEEDS!!!
			3.) CHARISMATIC- LOOK BACK ON LAST YEAR... WHEN WERE YOU TOO HARD ON YOURSELF? When did you fail to celebrate your inner diva? I don’t care who you are, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!! Take the time to showcase it! Go get yourself a hot new tube of lipstick... make a resolution to get up 30 minutes earlier this year to do your hair... ESPECIALLY if you are a stay at home mom. Girls it is sooo important to celebrate yourself everyday. Mom’s tend to forgo everything for their children and that is an amazing gift but NEVER forgo the inner DIVA... starting your day out feeling fabulous will resonate radiance into everything you do!!!

4.)-5.) CASH CONSCIOUS- WHERE WERE YOU FOOLISH WITH MONEY LAST YEAR? Did you get suckered into a “multi sale”? Did you impulse buy? Is there anything in your closet you really didn’t need last year but you bought anyway? Like I have said before I am a big fan of budget websites. My girlfriends turned me on to mint.com last year and I AM ADDICTED! it is hilarious... it sends you email alerts like.. “You have over spent on your budget for clothes!” Trust me it is a lot easier to hear those words from Mint than from your husband! RISE RECESSIONISTA! MAKE 2009 THE BEST YEAR EVER!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!! KK
